Rabindranath Tagore gained fame at a very young age. He also won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913 for his book Gitanjali.

Rabindranath's 52 books of poetry, 36 plays, 13 novels, 36 essays and other collections of prose were published during his lifetime or immediately after his death. A total of 95 of his short stories and 1915 songs have been included in the 'Galpaguchh' and 'Gitabitan' collections respectively.
